- Must be at least 18 years of age. No experience is necessary. Absolutely no drug or alcohol use will be tolerated while you are at work.
- Your duties will mainly involve harvesting, cleaning, and packing produce for CSA members and farmers markets. Occasional other tasks may "crop up."
- Must be able to work a minimum of 7am-3pm Tuesdays and Fridays, early May through late August. Additional days/hours may be available. Work may begin in April and extend through October if you're available and the farm's workload demands it. Tuesdays and Fridays are non-negotiable
- Must be able to work outdoors all day in all weather conditions. We work rain or shine, hot or cold. Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds. A strong back and knees are essential.
- Must be reliable, punctual, quick, and industrious.
- On-farm housing is not provided. You must provide your own transportation to and from the farm and/or markets on workdays.
- This is not a formal farm internship. I need workers, not students. However, a quick learner may be able to pick up quite a bit about a small-scale working farm.
- Farming is not gardening! Farming is rewarding. It is also hard, dirty, repetitive work. It can get incredibly monotonous. We work rain or shine, hot or cold. Temperatures here on the farm
through the harvest season can range from the 30's to 100 degrees or
more. There is no shade, no fan, no air conditioning in a vegetable field. You will be hot/sweaty/dusty/cold/wet/muddy/buggy most of the time. I will never ask you to do anything I don't do, but this job is not a stroll through Wonderland.
