early summer bounty!

It isn't often that we have a mix of veggies to offer you that run the spectrum from cool-season carrots and celery to summer corn, tomatoes, and peppers.  Our spring greens are played out for now, but we should have some summer lettuce to cut in a week or two.  This wonderful variety of food usually only lasts for a little while through late spring and early summer - so be sure to enjoy the bounty while you can!

We're overrun with Sungolds this week (not a bad problem to have!).  The purple peppers are cranking; these are not as sweet as a red bell pepper, surely sweeter than a green bell pepper, and much earlier than the red ones.  We're also pulling the last of the spring beets this week - these are mostly smaller "baby" beets without green tops.  Many of you have been asking how much longer we will have spring crops like cabbage, carrots and celery - there's still plenty of all three out there, and they're quite happy in the wet weather.  I imagine they will last until it inevitably turns 100 degrees in July - maybe a few more weeks?  Get them while you can!

One more news item for this week: introducing bulk produce!  We've always sold to a few local food businesses.  We're integrating our "wholesale list" with our "retail list" for easier management.  Whether you're a local restaurant, catering company, food truck owner, or just a home cook looking to put some extras up, we can offer slightly lower prices on items ordered in larger quantities.  Please go to our home page and sign up for our weekly newsletter for the latest products and prices.  Thank you!
