We've lost quite a few winter crops this year, despite our best efforts to protect them. We need to make what we have in the ground stretch as far as possible. We've been waiting as much as two months for some of our greens to recover from being shocked with early record cold, but the weather this winter isn't cooperating. Things will turn around and become more plentiful again. That could take just a few weeks given prefect conditions, it could take until April if the unusually cold and/or wet weather drags on. We never stop trying to grow for you. We may lose a whole field of broccoli and cabbages one night. We get right back up on the horse and plant flats for more the next morning.
We typically accept new memberships for our CSA program at any time, but due to this winter's harsh weather, we will not be accepting new memberships for now. We will continue to gratefully accept renewals from current CSA members. With fairly limited crops available, we feel it's wisest to pause a bit, and guarantee that we can provide for our current members. If you are interested in joining our CSA, please email me if you would like to be sent a reminder when we re-open enrollment. We'd love to have you on board; we just can't do it right this moment.
